Overview
The chapel of Saint Neophytos is a small but serene chapel located in Omodos, behind the house and in the private property of the current village Priest, Father Neophytos, whom had initiated the process of building the chapel out of his own volition and funds after getting a blessing from both the then Archbishop of Cyprus Chrysostomos II and the then Metropolitan, now Archbishop, Georgios of Paphos. The construction during the Pandemic and had miraculously finished construction during the first lockdown in 2020 despite the complications at the time that the pandemic had brought. The chapel warmly welcomes pilgrims and visitors at all times, providing a sacred space for paying homage, seeking solace, or expressing reverence. Father Neophytos had stated that his only request is that visitors do not leave any material wealth behind inside the church, like money, icons or crosses. For those wishing to show gratitude they are able to do so at the main church of the village, the Timiou Stavrou church.
